Join one of our volunteer tour guides to find out more about North Yorkshire's only World Heritage Site - Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal.

Garden and abbey tour, every day at 11am and 1pm.

Abbey tour, every day at 12pm and 2pm.
Head on a tour of the abbey ruins and discover more about the largest monastic ruins in the country. Unearth the monastic secrets of a great abbey and the daily routines of the monks who lived here.

Medieval Industry tour, every Tuesday at 2:30pm.
Discover more about the oldest building on the estate and the people who lived and worked here on a Medieval industry tour. Medieval Industry tours alternate between a tour of Fountains Mill, discovering how the building came to be and a Beer, Bread and Wool tour, learning more about what life would've been like for the people who lived and worked here.

If you'd like to find out more, you can meet a volunteer tour guide in the abbey cloister, at 1pm and 3pm, where they'll be able to answer your questions and discuss the history of the ruins in more detail.

Unfortunately, sometimes our volunteer tour guides aren't available and we have to cancel tours last minute. Please ask the admission staff on your arrival for the tour schedule that day.
